One of Alaïa’s most recognisable silhouettes is the crinoline skirt, taking inspiration from 1840s pieces designed to add volume to a gown and reinterpreting it for the modern day in myriad iterations. Here, the Maison introduces an entirely new design, using the same intricate patterns and knitting technique as the original counterpart but swapping the profile itself for flared shorts.
