When creating Vetiver Extraordinaire, Frédéric Malle perfumer Dominique Ropion sought to modernise the very traditional, masculine scent of vetiver, using a molecular distillation process to eradicate its bitter element – allowing it to be used in greater concentration without becoming overpowering.
