Founded in 2012, it is named for its designer, Gauri Kohli, who directs every form, material and finish.What It Is:Solid marble with brass inlay, cut into a pair of bookends - a low, wide arch profile with a flat base and a flat back. Gold lines run across the face in a starburst, spreading from a central point out to the edges, placed identically on both pieces. The marble is smooth and dense, the inlay flush with the surface.The inlay is on the outward face and the back is flat, so the starburst reads from the room while the marble takes the load against the books.
