Ginori 1735 takes inspiration from the court of Catherine de’ Medici to create its La Compagnia di Caterina collection, from which the Il Letterato candle holder hails. Translating from Italian to ‘The Scholar’, the porcelain piece – imagined here in contrasting hues – symbolises wisdom and resembles the look of Renaissance sculptures with its head on a bust.
