Opus One was born from a collaboration between two iconic winemaking families: Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. Their shared vision to fuse centuries of winemaking tradition with innovative techniques resulted in the pair crafting exceptional wine in the heart of Napa Valley, where the terroir and careful farming created true expressions of the year. Despite being the fifth year of a drought across California, the 2016 edition is surprisingly elegant and bright, with a nose of fresh red fruit and spice and juicy flavours of cherry and cassis, and finely grained tannins.
