This Ralph Lauren rug is inspired by an Oushak tribal rug made in Turkey in the mid-to-late 19th Century in a design that bridges Persian carpets and Bessarabian rugs of Ukraine and Russia. The rug adapts the style of nomadic weavers of Oushak using few colors, extra thick yarn, and large Turkish knots. It is woven of premium hand-spun wool and processed with a special wash to reproduce the sheen acquired over time in prized antique Oushak rugs.
