Made exclusively from syrah grapes, Maison Tardieu Laurent's Vieilles Vignes is a complex, deeply coloured tipple with a heady palate – think fleshy ripe fruit with a hint of briny minerality. It’s aged for 12 months in new and one year old oak barrels, then six months in foudre (large wooden vats) to add undertones of cedary tobacco, a touch of pepper, spice and leather, slight creamy notes, and violet perfume.
