La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 2015 - Rioja, Spain

La Rioja Alta is famed for its classically styled, spicy Gran Reserva reds that can be enjoyed imminently or left to age gracefully. For the first time in its century-long history, the Gran Reserva 904 has been designated a Selección Especial, a badge saved for the very finest vintages, and it's easy to see why: this 2015 red is vivid ruby in colour, with a nose of plums, mulberries, mushrooms, caramel and sweet tobacco.
