Stone smoky quartz ranges in clarity from almost complete transparency to an almost-opaque brownish-gray or black crystal. The color of smoky quartz is produced when natural radiation is emitted from the surrounding rock, activating color centers around aluminum within the crystal quartz. This stone is said to have the power to lift negative feelings associated with fear and anxiety. Smoky quartz is believed to have grounding and balancing effects that cleanse negative emotions. The single-point shape of Jia-Jia's crystal is thought to focus and amplify energy in one direction and with more intention.
