Cakebread Cellars’ story began back in 1972 when Jack and Dolores Cakebread offered to buy the Sturdivant Ranch in Rutherford. Not long after, the first sauvignon blanc grape was planted on the AXR1 rootstock. Fast forward to today, and the estate creates bottles like this chardonnay in the cool climate vineyards of Napa Valley.
