Celine Launches Yet Another Beautiful Bag With The Simple French Style Model Set To Become The Brand’s Next IT Bag!
A Bag Where Elements Of 16 Meet The Classic
This year is Celine's time to shine. The brand made success through the likes of the Dancing Kids' menswear early spring series by creating many high demand IT Items including their highly sought after hobo bags, triangular small bags, Celine Logo Tees and hats... and even men's underwear. Even through economic struggle over the past year, the brand has pushed through with other successful fashion achievements including the Women's Sports Bra, Ava Bag, Logo Loafers and more. It is evident that Celine has leveled up to powerhouse Prada, with each revelling as IT Brands of the trend world.
Celine never slowed down, but wanted to work harder for autumn and winter of 2021, by launching a variety of new bag styles. Bag designs boldly abandoned the brand's previous "safety net" looks, by excluding the brand's previous IT Bag design blueprints, including the ginger wild horse, which may have been a risky business move. They indulged in new designs erasing the brand's recognisable appeal, but it turned out to be a well paid off venture. Let’s look at the Ava bag as an example that proves that consumers either buy the most classic design, or buy the latest and most special style. There really is no middle ground. With Celine, one series is classic and the other is the newest and latest bang on trend style. Creative director Hedi Slimane, knows how to do business, by understanding the consumer thought patterns in terms of bag desire.
The brand's first bag for 2021 autumn and winter is a simple, low-key, textured French bag called Tabou. It quite literally stands for "taboo." The "taboo" within the bag’s design could be referring to the era when the logo was popular. Aside from the low-key engraving on the lock, this accessory displays no obvious branding at all, refining what we call an "IT Bag" in a sophisticated and quite “taboo” way.
The brand has long understood that what they sell is not just monograms and logos, but a real French coolness. The Tabou bag has stepped into unknown design territory and rebelliously erased all obvious branding, sticking to the played back charming tastes of fashion fans.
