From the Daum x Jon DeCelles Collection. Jon DeCelles began sculpting on little stones with a simple steak knife. With a great passion for sculpting faces, the artist decided to take sculpture courses and study the art in earnest. He received expert recognition and several awards for his work. Over the course of twenty years, Decelles' realistic figures evolved into abstract ones. This piece, "Maternity," made of signature crystal, was inspired by the birth of DeCelles' sons, and the softness and comfort that a mother's arms give to a child. With their eyes closed, they have frozen this moment for eternity.
