We love anything that is buy one get one free, so you can imagine our excitement when we saw the multi-compartment bag trend catch on in 2020. Proving that it’s no longer enough to carry just one bag, designers from Louis Vuitton to Staud and even Chanel have brought out their own multi-hyphen totes.

Just this December at its 20/21 Métiers d’art Collection, Chanel unveiled its newest take on the multi-compartment handbag.

The new hybrid handbag was spotted in a textured red and black design, both of which came complete with Chanel’s iconic chain-link strap and even a mini 2.55 purse attached to the front. The two handbags can be worn together or separately, depending on what kind of style you're going for.

For those wanting to jump on the trend however, it’s worth noting that the brand who started off the multi-compartment handbag trend was Louis Vuitton with its Multi Pochette.

Upon its release the Multi Pouchette sold out in mere weeks and following in its footsteps this summer the new boxy-shaped Twist was released in new colour-blocked colours. Adding to the brands covetable lineup, just recently the fashion house updated its Mahina leather line to include a stylish, relaxed bucket bag. Named the Bella, the logo bucket bag comes adorned with a round coin purse.
