Blooms in cornflower, terracotta and white sit close around it. The ivory ground is left open elsewhere.One subject makes this a picture rather than a pattern, and a picture has to be seen whole - anything stacked in front of it crops the bird and the composition goes with it. Put it at the front of a group, not behind.
