The figures are drawn rather than filled: a line of blush, sky blue, sage or rust describes each one and the cotton shows through inside it. There is no single center; the eye moves.The face is a pale, even texture from across a room and becomes a picture only within arm's reach - where each animal is found one at a time. The thin lines sit flush with the weave, so the surface is smooth against the cheek.
