Founded in 2012, it is named for its designer, Gauri Kohli, who directs every form, material and finish.What It Is:Cotton and wool on a charcoal ground make this lumbar pillow, the dark cloth turning every color forward. The stems and leaves are printed; over them the flowers are stitched and tufted - pink pompom heads cut like short pile, blue-and-yellow tulips in satin stitch, coral blooms with knotted centers, teal leaves in long straight threads. The print supplies the layout; the thread, the height.The pompoms are the first thing a hand goes to - soft, cut wool that gives under a fingertip and springs back - while the tulips and leaves are firm beside them.
