With one tone, the pattern is carried by the thickness of the line: heavy at the flower centers, finer along the stems. Both short ends finish in a scalloped rust edge.One color is texture from a distance and drawing up close - across a room the pillow is a warm rust-and-ivory surface; from a chair the flowers separate out. The chain stitch stands well proud of the cotton, so the whole face is ridged under the hand.
