Founded in 2012, it is named for its designer, Gauri Kohli, who directs every form, material and finish.What It Is:Onyx, cut from a single piece into a wide, low tray - a honed finish across the full face, matte rather than polished, so the stone's movement reads as depth. Rounded corners, and a shallow routed rim inside the perimeter. Veining sweeps in warm brown and taupe, broken by a loose ivory curve.The routed rim is shallow enough that a watch, keys and a folded card sit inside it without the tray becoming a dish, and low enough that nothing catches when they are picked up. The honed face does not show fingerprints the way a polished one would.
